The world’s first foldable smartphone has been unveiled by a California Based company Royole .The company showcased the phone at a trade event in china . The device measures a screen size of 7.8-inch before folding which can be used as a tablet. After folding the screen size reduces to 4-inch which becomes more handy. Flexpai is also the first smartphone to use 7nm snapdragon 8150 chipset in the industry.

Flexpai features a AMOLED screen which holds down in the middle. The UI (water OS) switches to one-half of the screen and displays wallpaper at the other half. The user is given the option to choose which half they are about to use.The smartphone measures 7.6mm thick before folding .After folding the thickness becomes more than 15mm especially near the hinge. The hinge is said to fold about 200,000 times.
The device becomes the first to use 7nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 8150 Chip. Flexpai comes with a basic configuration of 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage.But, there are also other options with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage and 8GB/512GB variant. The company also claims that the phone also supports proprietary RO-charge fast charging which charges the device from 0-80% within an hour.
Price and Availability
Flexpai will be priced between 8,999 and 12,999 yuan ($1,290 to $1,863) depending on the memory and storage specifications. The company will be conducting three flash sales to consumers in China starting from November, 2018. In addition, Royole said it would also offer a slightly different version of the devices to developers across the world the same day.
